Yoga on the rocks! I'm doing an elbow stand here over the top of the Mesa Verde that overlooks the ancient ruins. The rock warmed my muscles; yoga outside is a different experience. It really gives you a natural feeling high.

This adventure is a humbling one. It's humbling to know that there we people here long before us and will be long after. The ruins have been reinforced so that tourists can walk through them and get the full experience, but it is kind of sad to see the new clay filling in the holes of work from the original architects. I can imagine having been the ones to stumble upon this civilization in 1880. It's crazy to think that this civilization just up and disappeared one day; no evidence, no cause, no remnants.

This is a beautiful time of year to visit Mesa Verde, not too hot. At noon this was a beautiful short hike down into the ruins. And I had fun with my family. A great 1/2 day trip!
