Ice and Island Lake

This was the third time I’ve done this hike. I mean, if you didn’t like hiking before this hike, this one will make you fall in love with it. People come from all over the world to do Ice Lakes. This hike was different than the first two, because we hiked up to Island Lake that was a few hundred feet above and North East of Ice Lake. There were some awesome outdoor enthusiasts that swam out to the Island and were jumping off of the Island in their birthday suits when we got there. I think that’s awesome! And this lake had just enough snow in August for us to throw some snowballs.
I think I’ll let my video speak for some of the scenery; this is truly one of those places that is too beautiful for words. And I am thankful I got to share this hike with some really good company.
Every time I summit this, from the top, I think ‘if this is the last hike I ever take… I'm happy with that’. It’s a hike that lets you mentally leave the place you’re currently in and escape into God’s good creation. Every year, we get older. Places like this one, just become more beautiful in God’s design year after year. It makes me feel blessed to be a part of something more full of life and energy than I could ever imagine. It was here long before us and will be here long after.
